Wow two of my favourite people working together, Tim Walker and Kate Moss

US Vogues April edition contains a photoshoot buy Tim Walker featuring Kate Moss and the photos are just GORGEOUS!

The photoshoot was to celebrate the Ritz, Paris one last time before the doors close for renovation. The settings and outfits are to die for.

Models braking the mould.

I read an interesting article in the Guardian this morning about models the brake the mould. For example Daphne Selfe the older model pictured bellow. Selfe is often in the Guardian fashion pages and Vogue and has been in many advertising campaigns. She is now 83 and in more demand than ever before.

Whilst I totally agree that its fantastic that the fashion industry are starting to use models that brake the mould even more now a days, the Guardian write the article saying 'Bring on the wrinkles...and the spare tyre and brains too. Because you don't have to be a silly, skinny teenager to make it in modelling these days'. I think this is totally unfair. I know many (naturally) skinny teenagers who would probably be offended by that. Ageism  and sizeism works both ways.....

Fantastic pictures though by Nick Ballon

The male/female model: Andrej Pelic

The feminist model: Charlotte Free

The black model: Jourdan Dunn

The plus-size model: Tara Lynn

Trip to Harrogate

I headed to Harrogate today to visit a country clothing boutique named Brace on Montpellier Parade. Brace stocks Liberty Freedom clothing and I wanted to learn more about the construction and fabrics of the brands garments in preparation for my interview.

The attention to detail was very obvious, as well as the high quality fabrics. A fabulous selection of linings have been used. I particularly like the shape of the cuffs, turned up to show the pastel shade lining.

After examining the jackets and skirts I decided to visit Betty's Tea room. Well worth a visit despite the 20 minute queue! Especially as they are now taking bookings for afternoon tea every weekend. You cant visit Harrogate with out popping into Betty's. Fantastic food with brilliant service.

Surface View

Here is another one for my think tank of design inspiration. Home decor with unexpected imagery for extraordinary impact by surface view. We have one of these stunningly beautiful bespoke prints in out living room. They are great for students as they can be taken down when we move on from uni with out damaging the wall. The company will even source out fabulous, famous and fun images for you too!
